Tibits

Tibits is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant where you pay by weight. They have several locations in London, I have been to their branch in Bankside and Mayfair. I had the same experience in both places in terms of service and food quality. I went to Bankside for lunch and Mayfair for dinner (and a couple of drinks), and I would happily recommend either.

As you arrive, and once you have got yourself a table, you can take a tray and a plate and help yourself to the food, buffet style. Now, their menu changes throughout the year but they usually have more or less the same type of option, all clearly marked so that you can easily find the vegan dishes.

You will find a selection of salads and roasted vegetables, usually a quinoa or couscous dish and a pasta option. Sometimes they have a roasted gnocchi plate which is my favourite! There are usually a few curry or pie dishes and most times a selection of either tempura vegetables and/or spring rolls.

They always have a couple of vegan desserts too. I’ve tried the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate brownie. I didn’t find the desserts are the best part of the meal, you could probably skip them if you weren’t sure. The savoury dishes are much better.

Even though the desserts aren’t perfect, I like that there are options. I also like being able to go for seconds if I need to, and the prices are really comfortable. It’s a great place to go for a lunch break from work.
