Croatia

Croatia is one of my favourite places to visit, and it holds a very dear space in my family’s heart. However, I struggle to find vegan options on their menus, I tend to succumb to simple tomato sauce pasta and salads.

I have travelled down the coast from Umag to Dubrovnik and am yet to find a good selection of places I can recommend, so this post for now is quite short and I very much welcome your experience in the comments.

The two places where I found Vegan dishes specifically mentioned in their menu where in Istria. In Pula go to the Yatch Club in the Park Plaza resort. They have a “Vegan dish” which is simple, yet effective. And in Rovinj “Stella di mare” have a Vegan Plates page in their menu, where you can choose a pasta or risotto

Otherwise, you can count on supermarkets like Kaufland, Lidl and Konzum to get your essentials – watch out for the Veganski symbol -. Make sure you go to bigger supermarkets, as smaller ones won’t offer much. See the images below for ideas on what you might find.
