An Elegant and Indulgent Afternoon Tea
As I stepped into the serene ambiance of the Hillfield bar at Pennyhill Park, I was immediately enveloped by the soothing shades of calming green that adorned the room. The gentle melodies of a piano player filled the air, weaving through an array of songs that tugged at the heartstrings with familiar Disney tunes and classic movie scores.
The ultimate afternoon tea experience began with a delightful array of completely plant-based offerings. Each bite was a testament to the culinary artistry that did not compromise on taste or aesthetics for vegan options. After a delicious starter of a Jacket Potato topped with vegan cheese, the sandwiches were a perfect prelude to the symphony of desserts that awaited following a delicious Raspberry Sorbet to cleanse the palate.
The cherry chocolate mousse was a standout, a decadent masterpiece that I found myself adoring the most. It was followed by an elderflower macaron that danced on the palate, a rich honey cake that indulged my sweet tooth, and the lightest, fluffiest panna cotta that was a cloud of perfection.
To bring this culinary concert to a close, I savored two warm, soft scones, their texture a perfect match for the homemade strawberry jam that accompanied them. And what better way to elevate the experience than with two glasses of exquisite British Sparkling wine, each sip a sparkling celebration of the afternoon’s delights.
The service throughout was nothing short of amazing. The waiting staff were the epitome of loveliness, their helpful, professional, and charismatic nature only enhancing the experience. It’s rare to find a place where the service matches the quality of the food, but Pennyhill Park did just that.
As I reflect on the experience, I can confidently say that it was worth every moment. Pennyhill Park has easily secured its place among my top three destinations for afternoon tea. For those seeking an afternoon of elegance and indulgence, look no further than the Hillfield bar at Pennyhill Park.
