About Me

I have been a Vegan since January 2018, after completing Veganuary (check them out).  I am not perfect and have on occasion eaten dairy.  However, I have not and will never eat any kind of animal meat again.  I am steadily incorporating Veganism into other areas of my life (clothes, products) and definitely stopping myself before I make purchases, trying to make the right choice each time – the option which does not cause hurt on animals -.

Finding cruelty-free and Vegan products is a whole other conversation – which I’m also passionate about –  and there are already many, many online blogs covering it.

And Yes! I do still have leather boots, but I bought them in 2012 – before I opened my eyes!- and as much as I hate the idea of wearing cows on my feet, I don’t want to add more unnecessary waste in the environment, so I am going to use them until they are no longer wearable.  Of course, since 2018 I’ve only purchased Vegan, cruelty free shoes.  I find that “Vegan-resistant” people always point my shoes or bags out when I explain I’m against animal cruelty (I promise I’m not preachy 😉).  I can only improve who I am today, I can’t change who I was before.

I currently live in the UK, and I am half-British / half-Venezuelan. There are great cooks on both sides of my family and growing up, there was never scarcity of scrumptious home-made meals which is where my passion for food comes from. I really do love food and cooking, and as most of us, I look on the web for ideas on places to eat.  I have found loads of recipe blogs but not too many food critique outlets designed for Vegan options.  So here I am.  Hoping to add my two cents to this growing online community.  Your comments and feedback are always welcome.

Happy reading,

Hannah Mia
