I have joined up these locations in one post, as the experience and menu are the same in both. It is worth noting that they are, however different to “The Ivy” in the West-End, which I am yet to visit.
The Ivy is not pretentious, it is classy. It is obvious the staff are trained to high standards, delivering an all-round delightful experience. From the moment you walk in, the greeting will make you feel welcome, as the hours progress, a friendly face is always around to answer questions (my husband always has a few of these), provide recommendations, make sure you’re not thirsty, and even have a pleasant chat.
I know you’re here for the food, and I must say, the Ivy does not disappoint. I have tried a few different items and would recommend all of them. Because they constantly change their menu, a few of these are no longer available.
- Avocado and tomato cocktail starter. Basically anything that has Harissa has my full attention
- Roasted tomato soup
- Crispy polenta cakes with an artichoke puree and roasted tomatoes. Although I have tried, I can never get my home-made polenta to be crispy – this delicious!
- Sweet Potato Keralan Curry. If I’m honest, I was originally hesitant about ordering a curry in the Ivy, but I’m happy I did, it was delectable!
- Baked sweet potato sides, dressed with a coconut, mint and harissa sauce
Lastly, I recommend you have a cocktail before your meal, or maybe stay on for drinks after you have finished eating…you will not be disappointed!
The Ivy Garden and The Ivy are constantly changing and adding to their Vegan menu, the prices aren’t far from what you would expect and are aligned to the service and quality. The food is exciting and different.
